This concept design for a new foot and cycle bridge over the River Trent in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire was developed with Oliver Houchell at Houchell Studio. Its S shape deck, which is rotationally symmetrical on plan around its midpoint, makes use of the ring girder principle to allow the deck to be supported by cables on one side only. The two masts are steeply inclined to optimise the angle of the cables to the ring girder deck. The bridge has a 276m long deck with a clear span of around 110m.
