TALL have been directly involved in a number of humanitarian responses around the world; helping Oxfam provide water and sanitation at border transit sites for refugees fleeing the conflict in Syria in 2013, reducing the impact of a cholera outbreak in rural Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2011, the response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and the response to the 2008 hurricanes in Haiti. In 2007 TALL carried out a pro bono assessment of a cracking aircraft hangar at N'Djamena airport in Chad for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).

Director of TALL, Toby Maclean is also a trustee of charity Building Trust International (details), who pioneer building projects in the UK and abroad. To date they have completed a new school building for the Burmese refugee community in Thailand, have kick-started an initiative for low-cost housing in the UK and are on site in Cambodia developing housing for HIV-positive people.
